Future Man Cave

Our hole in the ground is growing! Despite some ugly rains last weekend, the concrete crew is rocking and rolling this week building the walls for my future man cave. I can already envision the 70" TV on that right wall surrounded by built-in shelving for about 1,000 bobbleheads. Concrete should be poured by Friday. Once the walls are poured, I feel like the updates will be a little more significant. This is the first time we're finally able to get a feel for the shape and space of the home. My fingers are still tightly crossed hoping that it's as spacious as I'm envisioning and feels the way other model homes we toured felt. I'll almost certainly be sneaking around this weekend to get a feel for the size of my future man cave to make sure the bobbles approve!

Our flooring meeting was scheduled for 2/13 but had to be pushed back to 2/22. I've been pretty cranky with delays like this so far, but no complaints on this one. It gives us another week to save a few more bucks! We've more or less made up our mind on floor and tile finishes anyway so I'm not expecting it to be too wild of a meeting.

More good news: we received the standard lighting fixture package and about 80% of exactly what we're looking for! We'll need to make a change with the light over the island due to the fact that we went with an island much larger than standard, and we'll probably need to add a few more recessed lights in the kitchen, and then there's the dreaded ceiling fan added cost... ugh, nevermind, maybe we're not in the clear!
